our impact

  • helping women with opportuntiies to build small business

    Funds were raised for a single mother, Ms. Sara Esme, to invest in infrastructure to build a business selling a local food staple, called Attieke.

    FEMDEV partnered with the New Life Project to tap into their network of resources to help Sara gain financial independence to support her children.

  • building community outreach through youth sports

    FEMDEV works with the youth in villages like Broouedu and Sokoyakro in Eastern Cote d’Ivoire to form village football clubs to provide a healthy outlet for the youth in the area.

    These programs build community engagement used to spread awareness and local support for our education and socio-economic outreach projects.

  • supporting widows, and single mothers, struggling financially

    Hortense Koffi, a widow who also lost one eye during an accident, was connected with the New Life Project to finance the health costs to repair her artificial eye and assisted her with other household expenses.

    We also helped Hortense to build a small business selling clothes at a local market and funded a partial scholarship for her children to continue their education as she developed financial stability.

  • creating access to education for young girls

    60% of girls in Cote d’Ivoire drop out of school every year due to poverty, cultural oppression or unwanted pregnancies.

    FEMDEV supports projects to raise money for school fees and uniforms. We also educate parents about the importance of education.
